Mr. Vinay Kumar Sanduja,
Vinay Kumar Sanduja is a seasoned legal professional with over 22 years of experience in regulatory/policy decision making, advisory, dispute resolution, specializing in corporate and commercial litigation, arbitration, competition, and insolvency law.
Currently, he serves as the Managing Director of the Insolvency Professional Agency of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (“IPA-ICMAI”).
Previously, he served as the First Registrar (from June 2023 to May 2026) of the India International Arbitration Centre (“IIAC”), an institution of national importance, established by an Act of Parliament. He has held various senior level roles, viz., Associate Director (Business Restructuring) at BDO India LLP; Registrar, Indian Council of Arbitration; Senior Competition Lawyer at Dua Associates, Senior Consultant to the ICSI Institute of Insolvency Professionals, among others. He has also worked as an advocate in the High Court of Judicature at Delhi, NCLT and NCLAT.
Mr. Vinay Kumar Sanduja holds Law Degree (first class) from Faculty of Law, Delhi University; Masters in Law from Kurukshetra University, and specialized Post Graduate Diploma in Economics for Competition Law from King's College London. He also holds Intermediate Examination Certificate from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. He is a Certified Mediator and Negotiator from the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) under the aegis of Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Accredited Evaluative Mediator from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, London (RICS). He also qualified as Insolvency Professional having cleared the Insolvency Examination conducted by the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI).
Mr. Vinay Kumar Sanduja has published several articles and made presentations on insolvency law, competition law, arbitration and mediation. He is also a resource person for various institutions, including the All India Management Association (AIMA)-World Bank Programs, Indian Law Institute (ILI), Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), and Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Asian Competition Forum-Hong Kong, among others.
Mr. Vinay Kumar Sanduja has been involved in various committees constituted by Government of India where he made suggestions and representations. He acted as co-opted member of the sub group (studying penalty provisions) under the Companies Law Committee constituted by Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Govt. of India to make recommendations on issues arising from the implementation of the Companies Act, 2013.He has also been part of Insolvency Law Committee constituted by MCA, Govt. of India on the issues arising from implementation of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016
Mr. Vinay Kumar Sanduja was instrumental in drafting comprehensive “Guidelines on Compliance of Competition Law by Enterprises” for Competition Commission of India (CCI) taking into account best practices in international jurisdictions particularly UK, USA and EU.
Mr. Vinay Kumar Sanduja has also acted as key member of the Task Force constituted under the Chairmanship of Secretary, Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice on the topic “Dispute Resolution” of the World Banks B Ready Project.
Mr. Vinay Kumar Sanduja was special invitee to the High Level Task Force constituted by Ministry of Ports Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) for establishment of India International Maritime Dispute Resolution Centre (IIMDRC).
Mr. Vinay Kumar Sanduja is the founder member of the Arbitration Bar of India (ABI), a leading professional association, with Attorney General for India (as Ex-Officio) Patron-in-Chief. ABI is dedicated to advancing “Alternate Dispute Resolution” (ADR) mechanisms throughout India.
